FALSE POSITIVE
You watch the alarms at Granite Hollow, a research lab built into an old mine inside a mountain.
A door is forced on Level 4. A fence shakes topside. Tap an alarm and the log tells you why: a delivery, a late badge, the wind. Most alarms are nothing. One isn't, and you have one security team and a long lift ride.
- A shift is four minutes. Pause any time.
- Your first shift is a drill: the clock waits while you learn.
- THE SEASON: shifts back to back down the monorail. See how long you last.
More inside: new sections of the base as you go, three services, and the call for outside help. Nothing runs while you're away. Free, in your browser. Made with AI assistance.
MORE ABOUT THE GAME
- The base. Granite Hollow is too big to watch at once. Each shift you hold one section of it, floor plan by floor plan: the main shaft down to its deep hall, the old mine workings with their rough galleries, the surface yard with its vehicle tunnels, and more as the shifts go on: a long section with a lift at each end, a ring tunnel, the greenhouses, a reservoir with catwalks over the water. The base map shows every section from the start, the ones still to come drawn dashed. The same rules everywhere; what differs is the map, and how far the lift has to go.
- Reading an alarm. Six rows: what tripped, the last badge, what is booked there, the sensors next door, the camera, the desk. One mark against an alarm is almost always innocent. Several that move are not.
- The desk word. Each day has an OK word and a HELP word. A desk that is being made to say all is well says it with the wrong word. When a job needs EMS, FIRE or MAINT, it names the service instead.
- The team, and the services. The security team takes the lift to the alarm, reports what it finds and tells you what to do next: lock the level, or call for help. What it can hold, it contains by itself. Sent to nothing, it is away when the real one comes. A medical call, smoke in the canteen or a stuck damper wants EMS, FIRE or MAINT instead, and the log says which.
- The last call. When the team reports it cannot hold what it found, it asks for SPECIAL OPS, the unit that clears the base. The call is yours to make, and it ends the shift.
- THE SEASON. From shift 12, under START SHIFT on the title: shifts back to back down the monorail, one section each. Sealed levels and needless sends carry over; the second sealed level ends it. See how long you last.
- What the game won't show. No one is hurt on screen. A level that goes quiet is a status, and people not accounted for are a number.
